Peeps for Easter

Just looking at Peeps in the grocery store can make me gag. When I was in grade school, Gertrude talked me into giving up something for Lent. I decided not to eat any candy and soon discovered that 40 days was a long time when you are a kid. But I did it. On Easter morning Gertrude had a very nice Easter basket waiting for me. It was wonderful and filled to the top with all the assorted candy, just for me. By the time we had dinner I was a little green around the gills. I do not know how many packages of Peeps I ate but to this day I never want to see another one!

Lesson learned the hard way, if you give something up for a period of time, it does not mean you can feast on it later. All things in moderation, or you may never ever want to eat them again.
