The aftermath of Covid

The headache and body pain are gone but so is my ability to taste and smell. You do not appreciate the ability to smell until you can’t. The only good thing about not being able to smell is the dogs smell fine to me. Even after they have been out in the rain.

Without the ability to smell I cannot taste much. Most food is like eating cardboard. Bitter and salty are distinguishable. I still eat but it is not as enjoyable as it was. I now know what my oncology patients were experiencing after radiation to their head/neck.

Do not take anything for granted is my takeaway from the pandemic. Live life to the fullest and enjoy the simple things!
