You need my weight, why?

Last week I went to see my doctor about a cyst on the palm of my hand. During the check in process the LPN insisted I step on the scale. I asked why? She told me she had to do it. I told her I do not get on scales. I did when I was pregnant but not anymore.

When the doctor entered, I explained that the LPN should be instructed that unless the patient has CHF or congestive heart disease, no one needs their weight taken, especially if it is for a problem with their hand.

I then explained that I was a retired dietitian and any many overweight/obsess women did not go to the doctor because of being weighed
